Blog Income Report

So I figured since everybody likes posting their blog income report, I’ll start doing that too.

Private Ad Sales – $62,900
Affiliate Commission – $55,238.23
Paid Reviews – $27,345
Advertising Costs – $0

Total January Profit – $145,483.23

I think it’s just a great way to show you guys what I’m making through this blog…

…NOT. Note to newbs who emailed me asking how I made that much off my blog : the above stats are a display of what is called SARCASM. I don’t even know how much I make from this blog.

Seriously, why do people want to see a blog income report on a “Super Affiliate” marketing blog? I don’t want to name names, but John Chow and Zac Johnson come to mind. I’m not talkin’ smack or anything because I haven’t personally met either, but they’re both super affiliates who post blog income reports instead of affiliate income reports.

I mean, these people say they post blog income reports because “readers think it’s interesting to see what they make”…but what do you think would really interest readers more? Posting your blogging income, or posting the income that you’re proclaiming you’re an “expert” in? I’d surely be more interested in seeing some affiliate checks/screenshots.

Breaking New Gossip

Just heard about this a second ago. A lot of you probably know the drama thread posted by Jon of Wickedfire. If you don’t it basically was a rant thread about Shoemoney, John Chow, and Amit Mehta. I won’t go into detail, but it was a pretty lengthy rant. What I just found out was, this pissed off Shoemoney to the point where he sent Jon a Cease and Desist from his lawyer about the thread. Can’t really post who told me, or even if this rumor is true, but I did hear it. Not that it’s something that’s going to shatter the industry, but the whole situation is just funny. On a more serious note, being a person who seems pretty confident in his stature in this industry and that he doesn’t really take anything “personally” – was busting out a C & D a childish way of taking out his anger?

I never thought so much drama could happen amongst grown men.

Anyways, even though I don’t intend to piss anybody off with this post, I’m sure it will happen. This isn’t really even a rant of my own, nor am I upset or accusing anybody in this industry of being something they may not be. I just figured it was a good ‘ol time for some UberHonesty, so I posted my blog income.

oh man !! i love juicy stuff this!! makes my mouth water!!

  2. LOL I like the sarcasm. I have to say though, that John Chow posts his blog income because that is what his blog was focused on. His affiliate earnings are through his main site which he rarely discusses. The blog focus is blog income. As for Zac, that’s a totally different story.

  3. February 11, 2008

So what, if Chow makes good money via affiliate/SEO sites, why not post some proof instead of posting blog income stats?

Not saying he doesn’t make anything but, it’d still be cool to see.

  4. February 11, 2008

Now THAT’s a fucking blog post baby. BAM.

  5. February 11, 2008

    Lol

Paul i was at first reluctant to take you for real when you made that fake RSS count number of eighty-something readers.. that was lame.. but you had proven your self as reliable. As for Zac, it seems he is more keen on collecting checks from affiliate refferals (the bare fact that Chow is making 6k p.m. from referrals says it all and he does not push it so strong as Zac is – that is why Zac will NEVER have the RSS count of Chow he is lusting about).

BTW why have you faked that RSS count?!? And in firs place why have you paid for a review at John, it was good that you did it but if you are centered on AM why would you pay for blog review(like the blog will bring you income) ???

  7. February 11, 2008

Dude the RSS fake was a joke, I’ve said that about 100 times.

And I bought the review to get my blog some traffic/subscribers. It worked out well.

  8. February 12, 2008

I have been wondering the same thing about John, he is suppose to be a Super Affiliate Marketer but I never see anything on his affiliate earnings?

  9. February 12, 2008

    Interesting

    Private Ad Sales – $62,900
    Paid Reviews – $27,345

I don’t see how your doing 62k in private ad sales (through your blog) and 27 k reviews on your blog, I suppose your talking about your blog right?

    You only have ~1100 subscribers

  10. February 12, 2008

I would say that you was only joking about your blog income report?

Because if your brought in that much for Jan. and you charge 250 per review then you would have to be doing around 3-4 reviews per day, and your private ad sales only cost around 100-200 dollars per ad.

That’s a joke if Shoe actually sent Jon a cease and desist letter from a laywer. It’s a forum post for crying out loud.

    February 12, 2008

Yea, well the fake was a somewhat false move and a link bait. Well it was good that you had taken a review on John, you made me realize so many things (not that i had not been following other affiliates – just the wrong ones! :).

BTW what forums do you visit often besides Wickedfire(Digital Point)?

  13. February 12, 2008

he faked it so retards like you would get all up in arms and go back to digital point to cry a river. it’s even funnier that months later, you still don’t know it was a joke. have fun making $.10 a day with google adsense newbslice.

    Paul:

If Jeremy Shoemaker did in fact hire an attorney to order
a Cease and Desist on the flame throwers at Wickedfire,
Shoe is not nearly as smart as I thought.

I think he would have been much better off simply stating:
“What you are saying about me is telling everyone a lot more about ‘YOU’ than it is about me.” End of discussion.

Instead of taking the high road, he has incurred a couple grand in attorney fees and he has managed to throw gasoline
on the fire. In my opinion, not the brightest move.

As for Mr. Chow, does he actually launch affiliate
marketing campaigns or does he just write about internet
    marketing, affiliate marketing and blogging?

(By the way, I am not the Jon at Wickedfire.)

Time to re-read the ENTIRE article.

  16. February 12, 2008

LOL, omg you almost made me cry…

  17. February 12, 2008

Someone doesn’t know how to read.

  18. February 12, 2008

yup the post got updated :)

  19. February 12, 2008

Shoemoney has a company and an image to maintain, your comment to throw to him would be like having shoemoney throw an insulting zinger at aojon, and probably just made the situation worse from shoe’s point of view. If I had the same resources, I would have probably done the same thing if I was shoe, he isn’t messing around, and he means business.

  20. February 12, 2008

Sorry bud, but thats not sarcasm.

And as for all you noobs talking about what affiliates to follow…GTFO.

You’re never going to make it anywhere in this business. Stop making all these jackasses like Shoemonkey, Chow, and other money buy following their BS.

Stop clogging the internet with sites you’re going to abandon once you realize you aren’t going to get anywhere by following “super affiliate” blogs.

99% of the information on such blogs is BS, fluff, or old methods that my retarded quadriplegic grandmother was banking off of when she invented the internet with Al Gore.

  21. February 12, 2008

He isn’t messing around….about being a giant crybaby.

When he was first talking about the ringtones bandit:http://www.shoemoney.com/2007/11/17/flycell-ring-tones-adwords-domination/

but then when the ringtones bandit started using cpaempire, we see this post in which he trashes cpaempire and not the affiliate running the campaigns:
    http://www.shoemoney.com/2008/02/04/google-adwords-still-getting-owned/

when i commented on this post, pointing this fact out, he said he has been the hardest on azoogle out of all the affiliate networks. but a quick search through is blog will show that he hasn’t been hard on them at any point, period.

so when he gets called out about it he starts crying and calls his lawyers. what an epic pussy.

  22. February 12, 2008

    Paul, welcome to blogging.

This post has got me as a reader for life. That link to the forum had me laughing all the way through – its so true and so needs to be seen by way more people.

Best blog post ive read for a long time so congrats.

(dare i say a hint of michael arrington and he is the single reason i read techcrunch)

Keep going in this vain and you’ll go far fella – ruffle some feathers, dont stay with the flock of blogging bummer boys.

  23. February 12, 2008

I looked at your figures in amazement considering John Chow didnt even make that much… then noticed that is was just a joke! haha…

  24. February 12, 2008

“As for Mr. Chow, does he actually launch affiliate
marketing campaigns or does he just write about internet
    marketing, affiliate marketing and blogging?”

I’d like to know this, too. Aside from going out to lunch daily and linking to 2-tier affiliate programs, what does he do?

  25. February 12, 2008

I thought I was the only one who noticed that some of the other guys never post what they really make in affiliate terms. It makes you wonder if some of them exaggerate how much they are making just for link bait.

That would be pretty shitty if it were true.

  26. February 12, 2008

I’d say that was money well spent!

  27. February 12, 2008

    Hey Guys,
Never ask a woman her age and Guy his income. Even if you ask and get a reply, without your head being ripped off, Please do not take it seriously.

    Nice post… with a hint of scarism….

UberHonesty was good. Although when I saw the title I thought “here comes another one” :) You could have a category in the blog for these type of posts called UberTruth hehe

  29. February 12, 2008

    Man u r a hero…i admire u a lot..at 19 u r the man who rock….even i am 19..but i make very little compared to you….Congrats Uber!!! :)

I follow some 30ish blogs on affiliate theme and i only find good info three or four of them.

BTW the point of reading the affiliate blogs is not to worship some bloggers but to get quality info on how to make your bank account bigger.

  31. February 12, 2008

I love this blog! You make a great point here about how those guys are posting blog income reports rather than what they are good at. I think its cool how you gave your advertising away for free! That really shuts those people up who say you fake screenshots or w.e, because if you were faking screenshots on your blog, wouldn’t that mean you are trying to get as much traffic as possible then sell advertising on your blog because your not making any money elsewhere?

    Anyways nice post!

  32. February 12, 2008

I wouldn’t be surprised if Shoe really did send that C & D letter to Jon. When I was interning at a SEM company this summer, I posted a slightly negative comment about the Shoemoney T-Shirt on one of his posts. Shoe took it so seriously–he complained about my blog comment to the CEO of that company and nearly got me fired.

  33. February 12, 2008

lol.. 2 funny.. Was reading the first part thinking.. WTF!?!!!

  34. JDS
    February 12, 2008

I can understand if Jon’s rant was directed toward gurus who continuously push products onto their readers but for the most part the people he named don’t even do that. Shoemoney is a big target but I cannot understand why he would choose John Chow & Amit Mehta. Quite frankly, I believe Jon of WickedFire revealed his true colors as a bigot and a racist. Why else would he throw classless insults such as calling Amit Mehta, who is of Indian descent, an “(expletive) camel turd.” This incited others to throw even more racial comments and insults. I truly lost respect for the WickedFire community.

    February 12, 2008

Has anyone posted on Shoemoney’s blog asking if this is true?

  36. February 12, 2008

    post the letter…

  37. February 12, 2008

Shoemoney probably deletes references to this.

My personal take is that we’re all in this game to make money… any (ethical?) method is viable…

If you want to cash in with a “make money” blog that’s your perogative. Same with ebooks. At the end of the day we all have to eat.

  38. February 12, 2008

Another step closer towards late night infomercials.

    February 12, 2008

Agreed! If they were really “experts” we wouldn’t be seeing their blog income! good call

  41. February 12, 2008

Man… I love that thread. And I must admit that I am a newbie and those blogs were between favorites ….but not anymore homey.

  42. February 12, 2008

That thread should be int he hall of fame

  43. February 12, 2008

scarism, new one for me. but i like it.

    February 12, 2008

If this is Shoe’s way of getting linkbait then he’s made a SAD miscalculation (IMHO)

That’s so idiotic of him. First and foremost, in America, HERE Sir Shoe, anyone is entitled to their opinion especially when you put yourself in the public view. It is mornonic of Shoe to try to shut someone up for expressing their opinion.

Shoemoney used to be a hero of mine. But NO MORE.
He’s “SHOEd” his true colors and let me tell ya, I don’t like it one bit.

    You Go JON!

    February 13, 2008

    JDS:

Well said. I think you hit the nail directly on the head.

As for Amit, he appears to be a very classy guy. And I must say that the comments directed at him revealed a lot about those who were making the comments. Just be grateful that you don’t have their thoughts and you don’t live in their skin.

  46. February 13, 2008

    Cool stuff Paul…

    Advertising Costs – $0

    I like that bit :-)

    This post is awesome.

    That WickedFire thread is awesome.

And ShoeMoney is a complete CHICK for sending Jon a C&D over that.

  48. February 13, 2008

Yeah, that’s what I would like to see too. I am interested in how much he makes from affiliate marketing, rather than from his blog.

  49. February 13, 2008

Neither his affiliate earnings nor any decent affiliate marketing tip since a long time.
