My RSS Count

You guys are too funny. I’ll put this whole fake RSS thing to rest early, although I seriously thought about letting the controversy grow just for the giggles.

If I wanted you to think my feed count is real, do you think I’d be stupid enough to make it something insane like 87k?! I photoshopped the feedburner image as a joke, and now incoming Chow readers think I’m some shady liar haha.

It was a joke people, pretty crafty though eh?

I’ll post a longer response to my John Chow review later, I’m on my iphone at the airport now and it’s annoying. Just wanted to clear the whole “RSS stink” up.

Having come from John Chow’s blog, I don’t think you’re a liar or any of that. Whether it be a joke or your way to get back at Google, whatever you do is whatever you do. Doesn’t affect me none. :P

Hehe thought so – I saw someone accusing you of cheating on another blog earlier (don’t remember which one), and I suggested it was prolly just a joke. Some people take things too seriously huh? :)

Geez, people need to relax, I personally have a good chuckle everytime I see your count ;)

If you can’t have fun, what’s the point? I thought it was funny. :D

Fake or not, I’ve been looking for a blog like yours and I’ve just subscribed. It’s a subject I’ve been trying to find out more about. Right after I started my own blog I started hearing about how much easier it is to start an Affiliate Landing Page and how much better the business model is, however I really don’t know much about how to actually get started or how to find a good company to be an affiliate for.

What matters to me is whether I can learn more about this subject and be able to apply what I’ve learned. Of course I still want to make money from my blog, but I want to look deeply into this subject as well.

Well, it made me come to the site to see it for myself and from that I liked some of the posts and added you to my reader.

    I don’t usually click through John Chow’s reviews…

The now “passé” John Chow must know about a fake feedburner chicklet after getting punked with one by shoemoney.

If he can get away by faking his blog earnings, I don’t see a problem with faking a small fb image.

JohnChow.com is the Seinfeld of blogs… Nothing relevant to add, but still worth watching.

    Have fun!

    yeah… right….

Why not? It’s not like Feedburner stats are actually realistic anyway. Considering that Bloglines automatically subscribes people to feeds as do other content aggregators, there’s no assuredness in the count anyway.

Great stuff Paul, I actually subscribed to your feed.

You fooled me. I was like CRAP how the heck did he do that?!?!?!

I absolutely LOVE the design of your blog! Who designed it? and how do I get one?

As if it wasn’t obvious enough, Chow made it clear it wasn’t real and I guess from what you’re saying, his readers flocking over here are still giving you **** LOL

he could have done a better review but that is chow.

Amazing linkbait. If you want to lure people to your site, you need to be creative. “Why not change my RSS readership to something obscenely high?” you must have thought.

    Well done.

Hey man, I don’t usually comment on your blog but I read it every day. Don’t worry about the not so positive comments on your blog, it’s a good blog… and it’s fast becoming a favourite amongst many. It’s nice to see a young lad with the success that you have, you remind me of myself back when I was 19, I’m 26 now.. it flies mate it really does!

    Keep up the good work.

    Matt.
