2007 UberRecap – Future Here We Come

Hey guys, hope you all had a great holiday like I did. Got to spend time with family, friends, and got some cool gifts. The holidays aren’t over just yet, we still have New Years coming up soon that should be a blast. As 2007 is coming to an end, I wanted to write a post reflecting this past year for me in affiliate marketing, blogging, and my every day life.

I can’t even begin to think of how I’m going to organize this post. I have so much to talk about concerning this past year and my goals for next year, I don’t know where to start. I guess I’ll start with an overall recap of my first year in affiliate marketing.

Affiliate Marketing in 2007

AM was a great place to be in 2007. I personally started in February, my first month was a gross of $1,094.25, and that was 100% from ringtones. Not too shabby for my first month in the game, I was happy enough to quit my part time job and pretty much stop doing all school work (ha).

Things from that started increasing exponentially, I was constantly doubling my revenue each month. Maybe when I celebrate my one year affiliate anniversary, I’ll whip up some graphs and show you the growth. Three months later, by May, I had my first $10,000 month. Three months after that was my first $25,000 in August. After that, things really took off and my revenue/profits shot up like crazy; well into mid six-figures monthly.

How did I do this?

I don’t post what I make to brag or show-off, I do it to show you guys the possibilities. If I’m 19 years old and I can do it, why can’t you? A lot of you are probably a little older, wiser, and have more savings (I started with $8). I made my first six figures through hard work, not giving up, seeing my bank account reach -$300, and practically forgetting about school. I’m sure a lot of you would be very happy with just making what you do at your normal job now. I then made my first seven figures though dropping out of school to work full time, maturing a little, and taking the leap of faith. I had a nice amount of money saved up from the past 7 months or so and I put it all on the line to do big things: and it paid off. Keep stabbing at it and you’ll find something, it’s a great industry, let’s tear it up.

Blogging in 2007

I started this blog in late September I believe, and since then it’s grown to be pretty big for a new “make money online” blog. There’s so many out there and I wanted to try to distinguish myself from the rest by providing useful information that will physically make you more money. I’ve done a pretty decent job of that so far I think, and all of my readers have been awesome. Out of 66 total posts (including small and random ones), there’s a total of 1,182 comments…that’s awesome! That’s an average of almost 20 comments per post…keep that coming. I <3 comments and a chance to just chat with you guys and hear what you have to say. My Life in 2007

I mostly talk about affiliate marketing and the internet in this blog, but I do have a life aside from it believe it or not. Life was great for me this past year. Some of the highlights :

  • I quit my part time job.
  • I finished my first year of college.
  • I dropped out of college.
  • My relationship with my girlfriend and I has grown a lot and it’s awesome.
  • I bought a new car.
  • I got consistent on a healthy diet and workout program, and I’m actually starting to not look like a twig anymore.
  • I traveled to events and had a blast.
  • I’m setting myself on a good path to cover me for hopefully rest of my life. Physically, mentally, and financially.

Affiliate Marketing Goals for 2008

It’s that time to set some 2008 goals for myself. My hope is that in a years time I’ll be able to make another post letting you all know that I’ve accomplished what I set out to do. I actually don’t have a long list of goals, it’s actually only one :

Have $2 million and some change sitting in my bank account. I don’t care how I make it, what niches, what search engines, what companies…I just want that money in my bank.

Why that simple goal? I want to put away $2 million into some longer term investment plan. My long long term goal is 15 by 25. $15 million in the bank by the time I’m 25. You never know where the industry is going, and it’s definitely hot right now. I want security for the future, and if I can have that amount of money in the bank and invest it properly, I can live rather nicely solely from the interest. 15 million dollars is no easy feat though, and I plan on being very busy for the next few years in order to make it worth it for the 60 years after that.

More specifically, I have some offers that I’m hoping can accomplish that goal in addition to what I have going now. So 2008 may be an exciting year for me.

Blog Goals for 2008

Aside from trying to take over the world, I do have some goals for this blog. I like the direction it’s headed in, I love my audience, blogging is fun, and I want everything to continue to grow. By the end of next year, I’d like to have at least 2,500 subscribers. I’d like to keep the comments and links coming in frequently, and I’d like to keep giving you guys good advice that you can actually use.

Life Goals for 2008

I have some life goals that are a little more specific than my internet goal, hopefully I set myself with these as well :

  • Keep my relationship with my girlfriend growing and going strong. Things in any relationship can get even more challenging than getting Google-slapped, so it’s always a task, but a rewarding one.
  • Upgrade my car. Not sure what I want yet, but I know that I want a nicer car. I may just see if I can trade in my Mazda3 and upgrade to an RX-8.
  • Weigh 190lbs with a relatively low bodyfat. I’m 163 now, so that means about another 30lbs of muscle.
  • Spend some money on myself. I don’t do it that often since I’m trying to reinvest/save at the same time.

Like I said, I didn’t think I’d be able to cover everything and I’m sure I forgot a ton. This is my best attempt at giving you guys a real experience of an uberaffiliate. Thanks for everybody who has been following this blog and appreciates the time and effort I put into it: you guys make it worth it.

I’d like to wish you all a prosperous 2008, another Happy Holidays, and a very drunken New Years. See ya next year!

2 million in the bank would be absolutely awesome. Wish you all the success! So what if you just leave it in the bank? If you can afford it, why not just leave it there to look at :)

Seriously though, diversifying is the smart thing to do. All the big players have some diversified interests.

Good luck on taking over the world! Hope to be there with you along the way! :D

    Hi Paul,

I have followed your blog for a while now and have read all your posts.

I can see how exciting this journey has been for you, not just in what you’ve achieved but also who you become as a result. I have no doubt you will continue to grow and evolve. Congratulations!

I have a lot of goals (both PPC and life) that I plan to achieve in the coming year as well and it’s just exciting to see the possibilities. Thank you!

Happy New Year dude, I just want to say thank so much for all your posts.

Im young just like you, actually a little older than you, and just started AM about two months ago. Since then I have been able to quit my day job and focus full time. I work crazy hours now, but I cant complain because the pay is a great and Im working for myself. I too have similar hours as you. haha.

At first when I read your blog I had no clue what your were talking about, but now I understand all the issues you face. Keep up the great work and here’s to getting seven digits in 2008.

    Cheers!

Congratulations for taking things to the next level rather than just being inspired and leaving it at that, remember to always be consistent in your efforts.

    Hi,

I just found out about your site today. I asked someone if they could recommend an expert in CPA affiliate marketing, and this site was one of them.

Are you doing strictly CPA marketing? I have about 5 years of Internet marketing experience, but none in CPA stuff.

How can I find out more about your strategies, who you’ve learned from, etc.?

    Thanks,

    Andy

    Great plan!

My goal is still to fullfil the 3 goals in life, wealth, health and love. The love aspect is almost complete and the wealth aspect is going well. I hope to break the million dollar barrier this year!
