Zac Johnson, God of Blogging

Why does Zac Johnson have almost 9,000 subscribers and I have 6,000?

Do I need to make 90% of my posts sponsored posts about products I don’t even support/use and the other 10% about a recent “profitable” Facebook campaign that made $20? His most recent post is a sponsored post about a charity for the Make A Wish foundation. Come on now, you need the money that badly that you’re taking money from a place trying to promote a charity?

I mean really, I must suck. This dude posts his profitable campaigns that make $20 and he has 3,000 more readers than me.

Yeah I’m bitching. Give me the answer, NOW.

/sarcasm

But really…why? Zac Johnson pwns me.

P.S. Congrats to Wes and the 202 team, Tracking 202 has been acquired by Bloosky. You guys developed an awesome piece of software and deserve it!

EDIT : Alright alright, the whole Facebook thing was a little mean, it could actually be helpful for newbies. He probably makes $50/day so we weren’t seeing his full revenue stream. Which reminds me, has anybody checked out the Affiliate Squeeze Theme. It’s a great new product that just hit the market, I’ve heard nothing but good things and I personally endorse it.

This paid sponsored post is from UberAffiliate.com.

Thanks for taking your time to write a post on me. Although, I’m making REAL money online and I DON’T need to brag to my users on PHOTOSHOPPED IMAGES of my earnings – I show them smaller campaigns to get them interested and then other affiliate blogs show them different ones.

THATS WHY I AM BETTER THEN YOU – BECAUSE YOU ARE A DOUCHE AND THIS POST SHOWS IT!!!!

He ran several contests in the early going of his blog to boost his subscriber numbers. Also he posts almost everyday….

At least you got 6000 I only got like 600! Booyah.

You probably don’t want 99% of ZJ’s subscribers because a lot are newbies who have no idea how to make money online and just buy tons of e-books and other crap that they will never read or use…oh wait that may be a good thing if thats all you do is peddle products you dont even use every post.

My conquest is internet domination, I’ll take all the sheeple I can get.

  5. November 24, 2009

I have been wondering how he does so well when all he posts is review posts. I just dont get it..lol

Question is how long did it take him to get to 9000 and how long did you take to get to 6000

You don’t need to brag? Is that why your featured post is your $800k Myspace money from years ago?

    Photoshop? LOL

    Heres some tips

    Make more Posts
    Make more guest posts
Try to get some local media coverage
Also Zac johnson and Jon Volk run ppc campaigns on their blogs for traffic

and the only reason zac posted the myspace site since that niche and site are dead now probably along with myspace http://siteanalytics.compete.com/myspace.com/

Make a post on dennis yu and watch the sub go up also try to bait people into your twitter

“Do you want to know what dennis yu’s Porn site is? folow me on twitter and ill Dm you :D”

Lets fake it till we make it! Lets fake it till we make it!! NOT!

I read so much bull on some blogs that it hurts, ZJ & JV are maybe the worst perpetrators.

    Son, shut the hell up.

  12. November 24, 2009

    feedburner counts aren’t accurate

plus, he seems to be popular to hate on, so people post/ hate on him like you, and he gets more play ;) all press is goood press. and he has fans too, so it’s win/win for him right?

  13. November 24, 2009

shit i only have 400 some readers and at least half are fake. i keep wondering how, when everyone tells me “oh i love ppc.bz!”

His blog may be garbage now, but he obviously did things right at some point to get where he is. Zac has turned himself into a celebrity blogger through things like speaking at industry events. Obviously he’s not going to give away all his secrets on his blog either. Sorry but this post reeks of jealousy. I don’t blame you though. I’m jealous of anyone who is getting rich online too.

  16. November 24, 2009

    That made me chuckle.

Although I was apart of the camp it wasn’t bad I just don’t think he was ready.

Interesting comments. His last like 3-4 posts have all been sponsored and or affiliate promo plugs. I love it when I see two blogs I follow post the same exact post:

John Volk & Zac Johnson both had the squeeze page review/trying to sell some crap product that they have probably never tried but has an affiliate commission of $100+?!?

Always gets me when I see those posts where they are obviously trying to cop $$ off the readers, granted everyone does that. At least Zach does show the sponsored post icon for posts he is receiving $$ for directly.

His Facebook profit campaign post was interesting because I think it definitely helped us small guys, and it didn’t look like he was plugging the $100 commission off 4houraffiliates facebook manager.

The FB Ad post was helpful but also a bit untrusting. One because he used direct linking which we all know does not achieve good results in facebook at all. His CTRs were absolutely through the roof. I get some campaigns at over .30 and still pay $.50+ per click. So I’m not too sure how old that campaign actually was.

I agree though, his last posts have been crap, but the FB one was overall OK.

  18. November 25, 2009

Leave ZJ alone…..he shows you how to make $20 on FB. He gives you coupons he got off a booth at Ad-Tech. What more do you people want? Do you want him to bleed? What is wrong with you fraking people. Leeeave ZJ alone.

Sheeple are yummy with a side of foie gras

  19. November 25, 2009

Zac posted a few guides and some case studies that resulted in 1000’s of subscribers. now people are lazy to unsubscribe…

  20. November 25, 2009

Oh my god, two good bloggers with good reputation on the web fighting with each other. Anyway this is your war. Fight it virtually and may everyone be safe and sound! Cheers!

  21. November 25, 2009

Good post. Let the fight begin! The very first comment has been Zac’s one and that was a good retaliation! Entertaining stuff, really.

    Zac looks completely gay!

  23. November 25, 2009

You should be more discreet in courting them sheeple then! No point in rubbing their faces in it! LOL, I the inherent entertainment value of your brutal honesty really does it for me man! I’ll be back for more, that much is for sure!

    November 25, 2009

You actually read zac johnson ?… thats even gayer than him taking money from a charity

  25. November 25, 2009

Zac’s explaination to his 20$ camaign’s is a great idea. We all have ways that we get traffic and make money that we DON’T share with everyone.

Yes I don’t get how Zac makes money when all he does is post reviews.. maybe he can cuase he readers are used to it.. mine on other hand would walk away.

But it’s the same with twitter I get retweeted doing things that if someones else did they would be unfollowed.

Different readers want different things.. guess you need to figure out what that is and offer it up.

  26. November 26, 2009

hey mabe we can link up! good blog

  27. November 27, 2009

I wanna know who is great when it comes to blogging. Is it Zac Jhonson or anyone else.

    November 27, 2009

I love ppc.bz I just don’t have a feedreader because that’s the end of ever working again.

  29. November 30, 2009

you guys rocks as you have 6000 and 9000 readers, while i just have hardly 600 readers….

  30. December 1, 2009

Well, I see the discussion is heating up here… in the end I think it as simple as that: it’s not about the no. of readers or the posts sponsored, is about the money… so I wonder who makes more money between the 2 blogs, since money is not necessarily linked to the number of subscribers…

  31. December 3, 2009

I am going to say reading is my god. I spend a lot of time doing it. A lot of money on it. I enjoy it very much. I learn a lot from it. And, when I am upset, I use it to take my mind of things… so, I guess that is my equivalent of praying.

  32. December 6, 2009

wow. 6k-9k readers, its great. I have to improve my blog for atleast 500 readers.

  33. December 9, 2009

Just take care your business.Don’t get into the argument between them.

  34. December 16, 2009

Wow I didn’t know that you are so successful. So many subscribers is something noticeable. I bet you did a lot of work to gain that success.

  35. December 23, 2009

right, zac is good blogging, i follow and visit zac blog regularly, great information dude

  36. December 31, 2009

Zac and you are both doing something right to have such decent followings

  37. January 16, 2010

Different readers want different things.. guess you need to figure out what that is and offer it up.

  38. June 7, 2010

Zac seems like a real cunt; just my thoughts and pardon my language for the kiddies out there. Someone rights a post about you. Say thanks for the traffic, thanks for the links, thanks for nothing, whatever and go about your business. You can’t be making that much otherwise you’d be out spending it, rather than spending your time heated here! I mean its just a thought but – the guy says your site pwns his. And your response is negative? You come across as a complete jerk.
