Last $100 in Free Adwords Vouchers

I’ll be giving away the last of my Adwords vouchers today, so this will be my Christmas present to you (unless I think of something else to give away – which I probably will).

To win the vouchers, answer the following question :

What are your goals for 2008?

I’ll be dedicating an entire post to that question myself, but I want to hear what your goals are well. Be as specific or vague as you want, but remember I’m choosing my favorite, so “make money” probably isn’t going to cut it.

Well, first I just need to say that I made my first Affiliate Sale today!

As for goals, I’ve been working on an incentivized website which should be ready next week so I want that site to succeed. By succeed I mean that it is pulling in $50,000 a month in profit.
Second, I’ve started playing around with Affiliate Marketing and I’m having fun, so for the year of 2008 I’d like to be putting $50,000 profit into my pocket doing it as a side hobby.
Third, I want to get my secret idea developed and live next year.
Fourth, I’d like to attend ad:tech and Affiliate Summit. This will be a change form me usually attending E3.
Finally, I’d like to get my blog off the ground so I can talk about the different thing’s I’m doing.

  2. December 15, 2007

I’d like to reach an average of 1,000 hits daily with my site. I’d like to keep my update-every-day streak going (haven’t missed one yet). I’d like to figure out why Google keeps flunking my quality scores (bastards).

I’d like to be making enough money online by August to quit my job (and then graduate college).

(Thanks for fixing my comment failure)

  3. December 15, 2007

My goal is to net $10 per day per domain this year. I’ve had an Adsense account for years but I’ve only piddled around with it making a few hundred bucks total.

I just completed the setup of my first Adwords account today and I plan on working hard during the upcoming holiday to get a few more domains working for me.

I grossed $30,000 this year doing freelance development gigs during my waking hours… I’d like to eventually make that amount per year in my sleep. Thanks for your blog – it’s an inspiration!

  4. December 15, 2007

My goal is $3000 in profit per month. This will be more than what my wife and I currently take home per month, with some extra for insurance. This will let her quit her day job easly.

I’ve just created my first profitable website ($50 in the first month). Not much, but it’s a start. It’s just eBay affiliate earnings with all natural traffic.

By the end of 2008, I want to have 9 more profitable sites, in various niches with various formats. Which means testing about 30+ different things, which will take about all year since I don’t have the money to spend on massive PPC campaigns just to test. I have to depends on traditional SEO marketing.

Thanks for the tips you put on this blog. They’ve certainly helped. But I could sure use a lot more. ;)

  5. December 15, 2007

I am currently running 3 sites so I have a bit separated goals for each

1)One of them is 1.5 years old and averaging 1500 uniques per day but I am still not able to get more than $7 a day from it, I am redesigning it. For it my goal is to reach $15/day in 2008

2)The one in my sig is new just a couple of days, I won’t monetize it unless I start getting good and constant traffic. So my goal is drive good traffic to it and promoting it, however if it grows well I might monetize it by the second half of 2008 and hope it will be hitting the $3/day by the end of 2k8

3)Finally the last one I’ve been ignoring for much too long, it is a good site that needs my time and attention and I have decided to squeeze it in my calendar for year

    I wish you happy holidays

  6. December 15, 2007

I have numerous goals from increasing traffic to my sites, to working on my consulting/development business (www.wpgeeks.com) and getting a new car but none are as important to me as my goal of being able to do something for someone that will completely change their life. I’m not sure what I am going to do, it may be as simple act of kindness, but I want it to impact their life :)

Thanks for the great tips on your blog. It is always a great read!

    – Matt

My goal for 2008 is to live a full year dedicated to my photography. For too long I have let the outside world influence and define myself and my time and planning. In 2008 I will shed all of that and hopefully remain true to my commitment to further my artistic and creative endeavors. Should prove to be an interesting year :) I hope!

Every year I make a list of my resolutions but sometimes I don’t get to complete it. I’ve been working on two of my main sites and I am really looking foward to putting my time and effort to promote it everywhere. But, really my goals are to actually set a few realistic goals and stick to them.

Hopefully this year gives me what I want but for that to happen I got to put in alot of my time which I don’t really have because of work. Trying to find time will be hard but for the new year I am going to overcome that and put in alot of work and keep on reading to gain more knowledge.

I wish everyone a happy holiday and new year!

  9. December 15, 2007

    Thanks for asking!

My goals for 2008 are rather simple. Being new to blogging and affiliate/niche marketing, I would like to be able to improve my site traffic to at least 200 visits per day by March. I want to increase my earning from the few pennies that I am now getting to at least $25 per day per site.

This might seem like a small goal, as I could say that I want to make 6 figures in 2008. That’s not practical for me as I am just learning and the couple of sites that I have for my niches are just getting some search traffic.

So, I say, I’ll start small with those goals, and maybe this time next year I can say that my new goals will be 5 or 6 figures a month.

  10. December 15, 2007

I would like to be able to cut my client work to 50% of total revenue – first step in my 3 year plan to be out of that market entirely… unless I want opportunity to test some things on someone else’s dime ;)

Next goal would be to spend less time working. I work a TON of hours and much of it isn’t spent that well, to be honest. Read GTD and 4-hour workweek, and I am refocused. I’ll still read your blog Paul, because it’s one of the best, but will go on a serious info fast after the holidays.

Spend more time with my new daughter and my smokin’-hot wife. I’d like to go overseas with them. Perhaps in August when even at 8:00 at night every Charlestonian is thinking, “Hell couldn’t be this hot, could it?”

“Simplify, simplify, simplify and channel it into what drives real value,” will be my theme for 2008.

You should post next year and have us all report back.

    Merry Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzah/Whatever to all :)

Here are my top 3 goals for 2008:

    a) Man Up:

Although I have worked on improving myself for some years now, learning fascinating (and often delusional) lessons, I feel like I have now enough experience to wrap it all together into a more down to Earth vision of existence.

    This means no more B.S.

It means setting up higher clear cut standards for my life. Having a sharp notion for what I deem acceptable/unacceptable both in myself and those I choose to surround myself with.

I won’t go into the details, but it basically means I fully accept responsability for ALL areas of my life and I determine to die every day, giving my deepest gift to the World.

    Being REAL.

    b) Gain business acumen:

I start my first full time job, in a very challenging position that promises to offer great opportunities for learning. I want to suck experiences like a sponge, understanding how a reputable company works from the inside and learning to manage complex projects.

I will read books on business like a madman, as well as quality blogs (such as this one ;).

Most importantly: I will implement everything I learn asap, so I expand my reference experiences.

    c) Honestify my relationships:

Ok that may not be a word but it’s easy to understand.

I will trim my relationships letting those time-killers fade away, specialy those who try to drag you to lower standards. This is sometimes hard, but it is necessary.

On the other hand, since I am in the process of being 100% sincere with myself, I will apply that approach with all my relationships. I’m not talking about not lying, that’s a given, I mean honesty on a deeper level. Having no hidden agenda and communicating with openness, in a “this is who I am, take it or leave it” kind of way. This will probably make some relationships disappear but most should become a lot stronger.

It will also attract new high-quality peers to join me on my journey.

    The main goal for 2008?

Make it my most fascinating year to date!

  12. Rich
    December 15, 2007

    1. Network with more people in the affiliate marketing arena so I can build a quality team with good backbone support in lots of areas.

    2. Continually test test and test some more designs, phrases, and ad copy on my campaigns to get them to maximum efficiency.

    3. $4000 in monthly income from affiliate marketing via PPC campaigns

    4. Stay open to new ideas and be ready to accept constructive critisism from professionals who have already gone through the pits.

    5. Begin to leverage my profits by reinvesting in other profitable ventures and continue to grow my affiliate business.

    6. Buy paul a milkshake or coffee sometime and pick his brain :)

    7. (this is actually pre-2008 :) Get that adwords voucher and GET TO WORK!!

–Paul, your blog has been invaluable to me, I didn’t start really doing work in AM until I read it, thanks for all the info and looking forward to meeting you someday.

  13. December 15, 2007

    2008 goals:

    – Release Affiliate Unleashed In January.
    – Open a couple online stores.
    – Get engaged to my girlfriend of 6 years.
    – Hit $83,333 a month in affiliate commissions.
    – Relax a bit more.

  14. December 15, 2007

Write my past into an ebook and tell them I am better than them

  15. December 15, 2007

    1. move to Little Cayman and stop paying 30% tax
    2. buy a Mac and stop kissing Bill Gates’ ass

  16. December 15, 2007

    My goals:

    1) Reach 50,000 unique visitors per month on my blog by July 2008 (just started recently and on track to do 3,000 in my first month… is this too ambitious?).

    2) Be making $1,000/month from sources other than my job by July 2008. Not enough to live on each month, but enough to keep the deficit from getting too big.

    3) By the end of 2008, be making $5,000 a month from non-9to5-job sources.

  17. December 15, 2007

Along the lines of your post on domination or diversification, I’ve decided to focus my efforts on niche domination. I’m going to focus my affiliate efforts on penetrating one general market and over time growing into sub-niches within that market.

So my goal is to focus my efforts on one market in order to grow my current monthly average of $1K a month online to $5K a month.

  18. December 15, 2007

    What are my goals?

September ’06 is when I really started to get into websites. I started with one forum and a group of 20 friends that could help start the posting. After a year, I’m pulling $200/month on ads of some kind. This was all without knowledge of anything related to trying to make money quick or a good way.

This October I found myself starting up on Aff. Marketing. Oct. was a bad month but a great learning experience. November I profited $100+ just on small e-mail/zip submits. I’ve been busy this month but ’08 is going to start my Affiliate Marketing Campaign. This should be a good year as I “know things” in the internet game.

My first goal when starting and still my goal while keeping my career and all things I’m still doing in life is to profit $1K/month and move or start building a new house. This one was our starter home and it’s time to think about moving. Using online profits to pay a mortgage gives me goose bumps.

  19. December 15, 2007

Our goals for 2008 include generating enough revenue in affiliate commissions to survive and then some!

We are brand new to affiliate marketing and are going through the motions of learning the trade. We want to get some campaigns started and watch the money roll in! Geez, sounds easy, but we know it isn’t…

We have great hopes for affiliate marketing being the answer to how we can make a good income and start to enjoy life! We are excited to be starting down a path that will allow us a revenue stream and allow us to travel as we want.

We are excited to see what 2008 will bring!

Thanks for your consideration and have a great week!

  20. December 16, 2007

It’s been a tough couple of years for my wife. One day she cried on my shoulder and told me that she really wants a house. So my main goal, I know it’s outside of affiliate marketing, is to get her a house.

But who knows maybe affiliate marketing will help me pad our down payment.

  21. December 16, 2007

My main goal for 2008 is to graduate from college, and make at least $1000/month average profit by my Birthday in May. I know if I can do those two things, I will be able to focus on my affiliate campaigns and hopefully double, triple, quadruple etc my earnings for the remainder of 2008

  22. December 16, 2007

I’d like to attend a few events… The Internet Marketing Main Event for one, along with Jermaine Grigg’s shin-dig and possibly Big Seminar. My REAL goals for 2008? Launch my first product, quadruple my landing page conversions and build a list from scratch of 50,000+ people. Easy pie. I’m also planning to go hardcore and buy a tonne of material to do with copywriting so I can brush up my skills and kick some product-selling ass. Aside from that – Just make it through school alive. ;)

  23. December 16, 2007

    A few things…

1 – You’ve been going out with her for six years? Hurry up mate or you’ll both drop down dead. ;)

2 – $83,333?!?!? Does that have some symbolic meaning or is it just a random high number? I figure with Uber Affiliate’s posting schedule, you probably won’t have much trouble achieving that goal. ;)

  24. December 16, 2007

    make money

  25. December 16, 2007

My goal is to stop reading so many blogs, articles, forums and actually start some campaigns!

  26. Dean
    December 16, 2007

My goal is an epistemological/intellectual one.

To be able to figure out the expected value of any offer given budget constraints, promotional tools available, and all the variables that go into any landing page or website. And to have the wherewithal to tune and alternately measure each piece of the puzzle that goes into this slippery animal we like to call “Affiliate Marketing,” and have a clear sense of which offer to pursue and what tools to apply at any one time.

    I’m working on it.

  27. December 16, 2007

    Congratulations! You won! ;)

  28. December 16, 2007

Main goal: Work less, while increasing income.

  29. December 16, 2007

My main goal is to make enough money monthly to cover what my wife gets on maternity so that when her maternity runs out in a few months she doesn’t have to go back to work and instead can stay home with our kids so that we don’t have to put them in daycare.

  30. December 16, 2007

    leave my company.
do so well that my company will give me money to leave
find a new better paid job in the internet industry
    have great holidays in Sicily

  31. Nicholas Johnson
    December 16, 2007

I plan to promote my first affiliate campaign in 2008, and also finish a short screenplay.

  32. December 16, 2007

My goal for 2008 is to sell the small bungalow that the wife, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 2 fish tanks are currently living in and buying a larger house. Once that is done I can start building my dream reef aquarium. 150 to 200 gallons attached to my dedicated fish room. All of this in the finished basement which also contains a home theater set up.

  33. December 16, 2007

To make enough money to live off which will give me enough time to pursue other interests and not worry about paying my bills.

  34. Alex
    December 16, 2007

My goals for 2008 are simple. As the new year begins I plan to start my career as a web publisher and affiliate marketer. On January 1st I have an appointment with my bank to start an LLC to promote my web business. I will split my time between school and online work, until May when I graduate with a B.A. in History and a minor in Spanish. After that I plan to work full time, from at least 10 to 6, six days a week publishing websites and learning everything I can about affiliate marketing and online advertising. On Wednesday I quit my job with a non-profit organization as their web deisinger so I can begin building my network of websites.

A cynical friend of mine think I am an idiot for not doing law school or something else that sucks the life out of you. He is becoming a cop, and we have a friendly wager as to who will make more money in 08. With his salary I would need to make $150 a day to win, so that is my goal.

I will continue reading both UberAffiliate, Shoemoney, and several other knowledgable blogs to help attain my goals. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to reading in the future.
    -Alex

  35. December 16, 2007

    I think that’s a Mil a year. Yes? Well 83,333.33 a month is at least :P

  36. December 16, 2007

Damn… he stole my witty and clever answer. Eff. Now I’ll have to figure something else out. “Money make I will”?

  37. December 17, 2007

essential thing for 2008 is more support from other hr professionals (local, national & international )to my site.. anyway, im creating this one for them not for me i.e cost effective alternative for sourcing talents.

by 2008 : “job searching will never the same again”

I’m keeping my finger’s crossed on that! :)

  38. December 17, 2007

    Strategy, Hustle, Money, Power, Respect.

Money doesn’t grow on trees. You have to have a good strategy, then hustle, then get the money, then (finally) comes the power and respect. My goals are to create solid strategies and hustle to get them implemented.

More specifically, but not too specific… Make more money online through affiliate marketing. Do so by filling/finding a niche. Keep doing what I am doing to maintain, but learn from all and improve on mistakes and successes.

  39. December 17, 2007

quiting the day job is a nice goal.

  40. December 17, 2007

I feel like I would have done a lot better last semester if it wasn’t for the 32 hours I work each week. If, by August, I can make an average of $50 per day via my online ventures, I’ll quit my job.

That’ll be a tough goal to reach, but I’m willing to try.

  41. December 17, 2007

Fww! $50,000 a month profit! Good luck. Are you already experiencing good amounts of affiliate profit, and are looking to scale? What types of offers are you working on?

Anyhow, good luck! Give us a progress report!

    – Tevin

P.S. I just released my new post The Secrets the Big Time Affiliates Don’t want you to know. The secret to getting HIGH CTRs and Conversions.

    4. Be the best person I can be.

    Goal 2008

I want to quit in 2008. Yep I said it Quit my freaking job. Im tired of working for other people when I can work for myself. F_that man…..I work on computers and my job has kept me away from my family for 2 freakin years scratch that 2 many years. My son is 10 and I only lived with him for 3 years…>SO THAT SUCKS . As I write to you now im over here in Kenya heading back to the states in Feb or March. Im plotting my way…and things are starting to take course. I suck at PPC but after reading this blog and going out and testing im starting to get clicks. I never knew how important tracking was until I actually got off my ass and started taking action. Things are starting to make sense now, im trying to align myself up with people thats been there and done it, along with people who want more more. Im hungry right now…I will quit my job in 2008 owww yeah im on contract also so im going to give them their little bit of money that they gave me back and tell them oww yeah i wont be needing this because I make this every month. Yes…..yes thats exactly what im going to so. Im outta shape, im steadily working on that lol. I also plan on helping others out as a way to give back. Will it happen. I know it will. A big vacation to celebrate my success an All Inclusive trip sounds good….why not…Ok im done venting….back to you next commenter lol
