How do you trick/deceive Google?
September 22nd, 2008 at 6:41 pm
How you start a campaign. Let’s say you do a diet offer. Do you bid “Lose Weight” w/ advanced match in yahoo and then work from there? Do you bid “Buy Weight Loss” and a bunch of long tails and work from there? How do you do it?
September 22nd, 2008 at 6:43 pm
I don’t really care man, just write. If the title is interesting, I’ll check it out. If not, I won’t.
September 22nd, 2008 at 6:47 pm
If you had to start all over, knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?
September 22nd, 2008 at 6:49 pm

September 22nd, 2008 at 7:20 pm
1. any keyword strategies not already mentioned
2. how (or what kinda tools you use) to group large amount of keywords into tightly themed adgroups
3. how many campaigns did you run in the beginning before hitting a profitable one? 1 in 10 or 1 in 50, etc. and has the number changed since you’ve become more experienced?
4. Have you ever ran a profitable campaign, then tried to scale it out and have it lose tons of traffic? how to avoid this would be valuable.
keep up the good blog, carl

How about new niches that you see some potential in, but not enough potential for you to dedicate time to. :)
What do you think about using the exit chat pop-ups. Are you like me and thinks that it’s bad for the industry and why Google is getting more strict on affiliates?
September 22nd, 2008 at 7:26 pm
lay out starting a new ppc campaign.
1. Choose Market
2. Choose Offer
3. Take keywords and make broad match campaigns
4. Catch long tail converting keywords and create exact match ads for each
or whatever the hell you do.
September 23rd, 2008 at 10:05 am
If he did this It would be THE most interesting thread to read. I don’t think I have ever seen an affiliate marketer show EXACTLY what they have done. I don’t see it happening :)

I would love to hear what tools you use and what you use them for. “Tools” could refer to PHP scripts, Wordpress plugins, FireFox plugins, or related software you find useful. Thanks for considering this idea.
September 22nd, 2008 at 8:23 pm
Paul, I’ve heard that you need around $20,000 starting out…what is your take on that? I guess I still want to see posts that involve starting a campaign and turning it profitable with a SMALL amount of money. I know what you mean being busy with life, work, g/f, and for me, school just started back up.
September 22nd, 2008 at 8:57 pm
tell everything that it is all about trial and error. Just admit it that you cannot just right out of the gate expect to know how to make a profitable campaign until you experience the trial and error and the mistakes to gain that experience to succeed!
September 22nd, 2008 at 8:58 pm
Write about what offers you have had success with in the past.

How do you split test your sites? Do you start with different landing page versions (review, blog, single product, etc.)? What do you do after you found the best performing landing page? What increase is possible by split testing landing pages in your opinion?
September 23rd, 2008 at 4:02 am
What is the point of longtail KWs? I was bidding on “Weight Loss” (advanced match) in Yahoo, and was showing up position #1 for “Weight Loss Benefits” – Why would I even bother bidding on “Weight Loss Benefits” if I’m already showing up for it because of a short tail?
September 23rd, 2008 at 4:39 am
Scaling. Setting up a small campaign that brings in a few hundred dollars a week isn’t too tough, but scaling that to thousands, even tens of thousands is more challenging. So scaling a campaign up – step by step – including media buys – would be really useful.
September 23rd, 2008 at 5:32 am
Paul,
Did you clear all your cheat people to make money campaigns after your epiphany and if so, were you able to recuperate your losses with new campaigns that don’t cheat people? Have you gone the product route yet?

steps to protect your identity, keywords and niche.
September 23rd, 2008 at 6:46 am
1) How much time on average do you spend designing a landing page BEFORE testing it, this does not count for tweaking after its been live and viewed.
2) Is keyword generation hard on average for you? How much time do you spend generally, I’m sure it varies with each campaign.
3) On average how many campaigns do you have running at once?
September 23rd, 2008 at 7:27 am

1) OK, we want to know your most profitable campaigns, the keywords and ads you are using, we also want you to export your campaigns and list them here for download. Hell, would you mind logging into my google account and just setting it up for me? Then I could pretend I actually learned something useful from this blog and start my own blog and pretend to be another guru and show off my rolex and google refrigerator. Anyone have any Google stencils I can borrow? How about a black American Express card I can use for a photoshoot?

How about an in depth guide about how to do market/keyword research for your first affiliate site. e.g: Do you base your site around a product or around a theme? Then how to promote it using SEO primarily instead of PPC since some do not start out with much capital.
September 23rd, 2008 at 2:34 pm

Here is a question that could form the basis for an interesting blog post topic. When starting a PPC campaign, how do you decide how much to bid for each keyword? For example, if the keywords I am targeting range from $1.50 to $3.00 per click, I’m not sure if I should bid $2, $3, or some other number. There must be a formula for determining this, but it seems that unless I know the conversion rate, I can’t know what my highest bid should be. If you know any sources on this topic, or want to cover it yourself, I would be very interested. Thank you.

I think is a good idea to ask people to provide you with questions to answer because then you know that your answers are being read by individuals that are concerned about the material.
