I’m sure all of you have seen the insane viral Numa Numa video, if not…
I have a friend who’s working on a promotion for his new affiliate website/service (that’s going to be pretty sick), and as part of the launch he wants to have a numa numa webmaster spoof. So basically tape yourself doing the numa numa song and dress yourself like Shoemoney, or any other popular industry person. Or just do something related to computers/the internet - I don’t know just be creative.
The top five or so videos will be put in a collage that will be featured on the website. He’s going to pick his favorite and give that person $250 cash. So even if just for that, spend 1:38 and make a stupid spoof video. If you don’t want anybody to know it’s you, just email the YouTube link or whatever to paul@uberaffiliate.com.
The deadline for submission is Monday, February 11th.
Win some cash!

So basically he isnt creative enough to do one himself and will pay $250 for someone else to do it for him.
$250 for a viral video that launches a website sucks.
Good idea though, i might do the vid and then use it to launch my own site with Shoe and Chow numa numa-ing it out.

That’s a very funny video, seen that a couple of months before. But I don’t think I’m going to make a video for the 250$ cash though. :P

Funny stuff. The band which sings the song begun in my country Romania and after a big success they fall apart. One of them founded Crazy Loop now.:) I read you blog everyday. Paul keep up the good work

I’m probably not thinking out of the box here, but how do you monitize a retarted video like this for the long term. I understand that you will get a ton of traffic, but that traffic would be very short lived.
My guess is that this “new affiliate service” needs people to signup. You create the numa numa contest to entice people to register. They register thinking they could win the $250. So a majority of the registrations don’t care about the service, they care about the contest.
So your advertisers see this flood of users and traffic for the first month, but then what? Or, does the site owner not care because they made good coin for a month and they move on to the next thing?

Have you ever heard of a concept calling branding?
February 6th, 2008 at 11:08 am
You can work on branding your business all day long, but if you can not monitize that brand, what’s the point? So what if you can get a million people to see a video. It means nothing without converting those visits to cash month after month.

not knowing what the big guys are up to, doesn’t mean they don’t have a plan. we’ll see… A lot of ppl monetized well the viral videos. it’s up to how creative and smart you are…
