This weeks feature in Charity Check Tuesday is Ruck from CashTactics.net. Ruck has made his living off internet marketing since 2006, so he probably knows what he’s doing. In his Cash Tactics blog, he gives some tips and keys to his success. His alexa and readership is spiking up quite nicely, so it’s definitely a blog to check out.
Thanks for the $100 donation Ruck!

As per the results of the poll that was taken, this months donations plus April will go towards the Children’s Hunger Fund. Great pick guys, thanks for all who are sending checks.

Wow, he went well beyond the $15 minimum. Good for Ruck, I’ll have to check out his site now. And on a side note, I just noticed today that you passes 2,000 subscriptions on your RSS. Congrats Paul.

Paul - I think you should have a l block on the right hand side of your blog somewhere where it displays the month total received, the charity of the month, etc.
Get people motivated (and reminded) to be involved.
cheers

Sorry if this is a dup post.
Hey here’s an idea which is very original. There’s this site, http://www.mostexpensivedomainsold.com, Most Expensive Domain Sold for Charity where 50% of the sale of this domain will go to charity. The current ask price for is $1million. Affiliates who help to promote this sale will enter into a raffle where each visitor they bring in is worth 1 raffle ticket. 1st place winner gets 25%, 10% to 2nd, 5% to 3rd. You can sign up for your own unique id so the more visitors you bring in, the higher your chances of winning. The idea is that if the word gets out, someone might actually put a bid in … hey why not? 100% of their donation is deductible, s/he will get headline news attention since this will set a new record as this has never been done since the birth of the internet, s/he will end up owning this domain and hence can monetize it as it will receive tons of traffic due to news and affiliate links. 10% goes to the project owners of this site and if this doesnt get sold by 2010, it will be auction out so the affiliates who promote this site will eventually get their tickets into a raffle.
The reason why most fund raising fail is because the people behind sometimes are not ‘motivated’ enough. This is different in that the people promoting this might end up with some serious cash and its good for the soul. Winners will get the names on the news and record books as well as the buyer of this domain. The bottom line is that if this domain is sold for $1million in the name of charity, it will put some serious spotlight on charity and raise awareness about giving.
Hey, even if you send in one visitor, you’ll have 1 ticket for the drawing and yes…’you never know’.
Good luck Paul and good luck to those who want to help this noble cause. You guys are creative, so donate your creativity and spread the love.

It is great you are doing something for charity however I feel you could do this more effectivly by allowing people to send money online, or by matching the donations or similar. This way more people are likely to reach for their wallets.

That’s cool, looks like this is working out really well for the little time it’s been running. I agree with Tom Beaton, why not put a paypal thingie on here somewhere? I get the thing with the picture and the check is proabably a little cooler to do, but I don’t know maybe people would contribute more and more easily if that was a choice. I think you said the minimum to get some recognition was $15, but others would be willing to donate maybe $5 bucks just to give, especially if they believe in the charity. Anyways that’s my thouhgt.

RALPH - how funny is that!
Boy is that “Ruck” character a stiff. Read his blog for 5 minutes and you realize he is some self absorbed, full of himself pr*ck who thinks he knows everything.
Another one of those guys that want you to believe he is a “big player”, but is completely clueless. Maybe we can hear a few more stories about how he hurt himself working at Walmart or how he can’t buy a toothbrush and has to get his teeth yanked.

Nice, it seems the jimm troll doesn’t just leave mommies basement for my blog but comes here as well. Funny how he hides behind a screen name but doesn’t have the juice to reveal who he is. See these posers everday though.

Were is your blog to read Jimm? Now go kill yourself.

Nice going, Ruck. Keep doing what you do my friend and don’t give the “jimm’”’s of the world any spot. From his comments it’s obvious that he has a “PhD” - Player Hater Degree. Guys that can’t always have issues with those who can

This is an awesome thing you guys are doing. Giving money to the needy is a nice thing to do. Also, it’s a great way for us to discover who can put their money where their mouth is int he affiliate/bloggers world.
