Uber Affiliate Marketing Guide

last updated 7/9/2013

Welcome to the epiphany in your affiliate marketing career. What I’m going to present here is a constantly updating mega affiliate marketing guide. It will be article links from blogs and forum posts. You will find everything you need to get you started with affiliate marketing, which means never again will you PAY FOR ANY AFFILIATE MARKETING INFORMATION. There’s too much quality free stuff out there for you to waste time and money buying something else. I’ve sifted through blogs to find the top informational posts that covers most topics of affiliate marketing. If you read every article in this guide and still go out and buy an affiliate marketing eBook without putting what you just learned to good use, you’re stupid. These articles will give you a very solid background into affiliate marketing and all the different techniques you can use. All you have to do is go out there and test what you learned. Keep what’s converting, and drop what isn’t. As I’m completely positive I haven’t covered every good article out there, make sure to contact me and hit me up with some links to add.

My CPA Networks and Tools

I’m just going to list out the affiliate networks I use, as well as the tools (paid and unpaid) I use when starting up a campaign. I recommend signing up for every affiliate network out there (even the ones I don’t mention), as each network has different offers with different payouts. You can be doing sweet on a niche, sign up with another network, and find out that they have a higher converting offer that pays out more. None of the paid tools are necessary, but each of them has their own special use to me and that’s why I use them.

I also stay up-to-date on affiliate industry blogs using AffPosts.com, so check that out for recent news.

This is a great source for everyone, especially for the new people here. It’s a pity that we can’t access Diorex blog anymore. I loved to read his posts!

    Great List of resources

It’s interesting how the business of affiliate marketing has caught the imagination of so many

For the newbie the above list may appear intimidating at first. What you need to do is take one item, understand it, implement it and make it work for you before going on to the next

  12. March 18, 2008

I’ve tried out AzoogleAds and they are amazing people. Their tech support rocks and the affiliate manager will give out their AIM usernames so that you can have them to chat to about anything most of the time. They have amazing offers which yall should check out. WTW

Hey, I just got bumped here through Gyutae winning the website..
Though I came here just for the contest, my mind has changed..

Recently I was brainstorming about making money over the web, where in I had lots of knowledge but lacked execution.. and I saw a great list of sites in your post.. Now I do not care if I win the contest or not.. I am glad that you sponsered the contest, got exposure and I am your potential loyal reader :)

Keep going.. Would be good, if you can write something about affliate marketing for newbies. The hurdles they come accross. Major factor is fear that many are going blind towards affliate links, and many already existing big players. Which also means a newbie would have no traffic to his/her website.. one might click with a certain keyword, and earn a hill with his affliate and few might not earn even if they rank #1.
asking people to do a keyword research is easy, but in reality compeating with already existing heavily backlinked sites is a real difficult job and discouraging if not fruitful soon..

Wish you can throw some light over an email or a comment here.. :)

    Hey Paul,

I know this is an awesome post and helpful guide. I read through it a long time ago, but never really put any effort into it. Its my fault I know. However, I think it would be an interesting experiment to see someone go from newbie to 50% of your financial level by following your advice. Perhaps turn it into a case study or something. I may some day try to actually implement your tips instead of “researching” all of the time. Only time will tell.

By the way this post is involved with the Winning the Web contest madness- be prepared for the wave. WTW

Congrats Paul. Your success in affiliate marketing is awesome. I am subscribing to your RSS Feed starting today. You are indeed worthy of emulation by thousands of money bloggers.

  17. March 18, 2008

When promoting a CPA from one of the major networks I like to stand out. What I do is contact my affiliate manager and ask is the merchant will review a custom ad. In most cases they say yes. Then I make a new logo or banner that is designed to attract attention and get clickthroughs. This is learned from trial and error, it gets easier to do the more you try.

Once I have the new ad all I have to do is drive the right traffic to it. I pick a well converting offer and promote it using a unique graphic/banner.

Thanks for your Tips, I will subscribe to your RSS feed so I don’t miss your great info.

I got involved in affiliate marketing 2 months ago, and so far I have profited about $700. Not much comparing to the big players in this field, but I think its quite a start. Of course, I am still a “noob” and finding this post of yours helped me a lot, especially the links covering topics related to PPC. Oh, btw, this is the first post that I read on your blog – and it convinced me to subscribe :) .Cheers, keep it up (btw2: WTW).

  23. March 18, 2008

While it might ruffle some feathers, what blogs do you recommend we keep up on? I probably add one every 2 weeks, and do a cleaning every 3 months or so. What are your top 5 “must reads”?

This is probably one of the best link compilations I’ve seen in a while. I really like the “choosing a niche” and “Keyword Research” links. I’ve already read through them this morning and picked up some great tips. I would love to see this updated quarterly or even similar post quarterly which fresh links each time. Great Job! Keep up the good work.

    Thanks,

This is a really fantastic collection of posts! I love the section on Landing Pages, I am just starting to get into PPC myself, and that was one of my biggest question marks. I’m also looking forward to reading the Tracking section, because as an affiliate marketer with a small budget, I want to make sure I can determine the efficiency of my PPC campaigns as soon as possible to minimize loss/maximize gain.

It’s tough when you are first starting, as it feels like your margins of error are much smaller, and yet it is more difficult because you are less experienced! Thanks for the great resource!
